I started working at West Heath Dental Practice in 2009 and have over 20 years experience of working in the dental environment. I started in 1987 as a dental nurse and went on to gain the Certificate in Oral Health Education. In 1993 I qualified as a Dental Hygienist from Birmingham Dental Hospital School of Hygiene.

My qualification allows me to carry out preventive and gum (periodontal) treatment to a wide range of patients. I am able to complete periodontal examinations and screening and perform supragingival (above the gums) and sub gingival (under the gums) scaling and debridement using manual and powered instruments.

I am able to apply topical treatments for caries prevention, sensitivity and periodontal disease and administer local anaesthetic when required.

Being particularly interested in the care of implants , I work along side Andrew Murphy before and after the placement of implants to provide the best care in keeping the peri-implant tissues healthy.

I also enjoy working with patients during the orthodontic (tooth straightening) journey and also with nervous patients helping them to overcome their fears.

I am a registered member of the General Dental Council and The British Society of Dental Hygienists & Therapists.

When I’m not working I enjoy being a Mom to Sophie, I have an interest in a wide range of crafts, theatre, music and spending time with friends.
